Marie Kondos shirt folding method will blow your mind

Marie Kondo spent her childhood obsessively cleaning anything she could get her hands on — and eventually turned that passion into a career. The organizing guru, whose second book, “Spark Joy” (Ten Speed Press), is out now, has since spawned a movement. Here we show how to perfect her unique folding method.

  • 1.Lay the shirt on a flat surface, then fold one side toward the center.

  • 2.Fold the sleeve back so that it aligns with the shirt’s edge.

  • 3.Fold the shirt sleeve back flush with the edge of the rectangle.

  • 4.Repeat the process, folding the other side the same way.

  • 5.Fold the rectangle in half, so that it’s almost but not quite to the edge. Then, fold in thirds.

  • 6.Make sure the rectangle stands on its own before putting it in a drawer.
